Well they were kind of silly but you know we still hear them at Christmas time:)
Were they real people singing and just changing their voices? Anyone know?

Hi, The Chipmunks started life in the 50s as "David Seville & the Chipmunks" then went on to become Alvin & the Chipmunks.
The biggest xmas hit featured Ron Hicklin as Alvin, with Gene Morford as Simon and Randy Crenshaw as Theodore. The voices were speeded up to give them that sound.I'm afraid Alvin's voice had three others singing in subsequent songs,Simon and Theodore had up to eight !!.
